Macbeth Question 1
Initially, the reader encounters Macbeth through the words of a sergeant, speaking of his great victory in battle. The sergeant speaks of his success and the others whom he speaks to appear exuberant at his victory. My first impression of Macbeth was one of a brave, valiant leader who was admired by many in his community, based on the information given by the sergeant. He appears to be very successful and trusted by the other leaders of the area, but not necessarily in a position of great power.
Well explained, Mary Ann.
